You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!

Look who's suddenly taken any interest in firearms!

We played along and let him shop, but in the end were able to dodge this bullet for the time being. (PUNNY!!)

Next thing we know, he'll shoot his eye out! Well, at least he doesn't wear glasses.

Chubby Little Cubby

Suddenly, Pooh is now regarded as "Winnie the Pooh, Chubby Little Cubby" in our household.

In any event, the kids were so excited to pose with the Hundred Acre cast in Downtown Disney.

I guess poor Eeyore didn't make the cut!

Busy Boy

Osten was non-stop at the park from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It's rare for him not to have a nap, and we tried to lull him to sleep in both the stroller and on the train that circles the park, but he was having none of it! He and Marci played and played on a playground in Toon Town. It was similar to the Soft Play at the mall, except bigger and outside. He was especially excited to be able to climb on the top of a small house, and he even voluntarily posed for a picture (which is pretty rare these days)!

He loved meeting Mickey Mouse, even though Marci had a last-minute change of heart and wouldn't go near him.

He also got sprinkled with Pixie dust by the boy fairy (whose name I still don't know)! We may need to brush up on on fairies before our next visit!

We left the park right after the street party. Osten was really showing off his moves! (He was sound asleep in the stroller about 10 minutes later!)

Minnie Mania

While we were waiting to meet Ed and his family in Downtown Disney, we strolled through the gigantic Disney Store there. We told the kids that they could pick out one stuffed animal. It was so entertaining to watch Marci make her decision. She must have picked up about a dozen different stuffed animals, kissed them on the face and placed them back on the shelf before deciding upon a small Minnie Mouse. Well, it was Minnie mania from then on out! She ran up to this Minnie statue in another store and started posing for pictures.

She was so excited that I'm not sure that it occurred to her that Minnie was just a statue.

She was beside herself while watching the live show on the stage in front of Cinderella's castle. She was mesmerized! After jumping out of the stroller, she put out her ams and said over and over again, "Hold me, Minnie."

Although she's not much of a fan of Mickey, she loves looking at this picture . . . probably just because Minnie is in it!

Disney Magic

We spent the day in the Magic Kingdom on Saturday. It was the kids' first trip, and Daddy and I hadn't been since our own childhoods. After watching the opening show, we went straight to Dumbo. The kids loved it, and it was just like I remembered.

Ariel's Grotto was right across the way, so we got to meet the famous mermaid.

We headed over to Toon Town just as it was opening and got in line to meet the fairies. About 40 minutes later, the kids were talking to Tinkerbell. They were in total awe!

Later in the day, we took a few spins on the tea cups. Just looking at this picture makes me dizzy all over again!

When It Rains, It Pours

Daddy put Marci to bed last night. When I went in to give her a kiss, this is what I found!

When I went back to tuck her in for the night, I had to wrestle that umbrella from her.

Simply Sweet

The next time the kids are fighting like cats and dogs, I'm going to look at this picture! It's simply sweet.

And then I'm going to make the two of them look at this picture to show them how nicely they can play together.

Finally, as the piece de resistance, I'm going to make them look at this picture to show them how much fun they can have when they play together!

Parade of Pink

Marci inherited some princess dressup clothes from a neighbor last week. Needless to say, she was thrilled by the new threads.

It was a parade of pink!

I love this shot of her from the back with one click-click on and one click-click off! (After Piper showed her the ropes of the click-click shoes with her very first pair for her birthday last year, she's been click-clicking her way around the house ever since!) And the socks just make the outfit, don't you think?

I Love You . . .

You love me. We're a happy family!! Barney has suddenly become a favorite in our house, especially with Osten. We inherited one of his movies from a friend, and we've rented some from the library. Surprisingly, they're not that bad!

Birthday Bash

We recently celebrated the birthday of one of Osten's friends from school. It was quite a bash, and Osten had a blast!

Play-doh Pajama Party

The kids suprised me the other morning with an impromptu play-doh pajama party. Sometimes I wonder if maybe it would be a good idea to keep the play-doh out of their easy reach, but somehow or another I never seem to get around to moving it.

On this particular occasion, they dug out some old cheese spreaders of mine and used them to cut the play-doh. In their books, the spreaders are the equivalent to real knives, so they thought they were hot stuff!

Happy New Year!

We rang in an early new year with Gramma Sue at an early-bird dinner in our neighborhood. The kids had a ball with all of the decorations that were scattered on the table. A string trio set up right next to our table, and the kids danced along with the music and cheered and applauded after every song.

As usual, they burned off the energy they saved up while sitting through dinner on the front lawn.

While not blowing their horns, they showed Gramma Sue their new gymnastics moves including many backward rolls courtesy of Osten.
