Ring Around the Rosie

Ring around the rosie,

A pocket full of posies,

Ashes, ashes,

We all fall down.

Going Green

Osten finished the Starfish Swim Program last month and earned his green patch!

He worked so hard with his fabulous teacher, Ms. Melissa.

Go Osten, go!

Marci also did a great job cheering on her big brother (and staying out of too much trouble)!

Mini Makeover

Look who got into my makeup the other day! She gave herself quite the mini makeover.

Would you look at her legs and lack of bottoms! She's the perfect mix of girly girl and tomboy. I love it!

Summer Lovin'

The kids are lovin' some summer sun this year. Just recently, they decided to break in the picnic table on their swing set with a portable snack of goldfish and lemonade.

Sweet!

The Cable Guy

We finally had some much-needed work done on our cable a few weeks ago, and the guys had quite a time cornering the cable guy and forcing him into more than one round of twenty questions.

"Is that your screw driver?" "What are you doing?" "Why are you wearing a red shirt? Only bad guys wear red shirts." "Why'd you make a hole in our wall?" "Look at this big, huge, giant mess. You better clean this up!"

Dinner Deluxe

As a special Father's Day treat this year, the kids and I made Daddy dinner in bed. I think it was a hit!

Daddy-Daughter Day

Last weekend, Osten and I met a friend of his at the movies to see Toy Story 3. Daddy and Marci stayed home and enjoyed some quality time together . . . fishing at the lagoon.

It's hard to tell who was more excited!

Backseat Chit-Chat

I love listening to my kids chit-chat in the backseat when I'm driving and they think I'm not paying attention. Just the other day, they were having quite a discussion about mommies and daddies and families in general. Occasionally, they would ask me a question, but mostly they were just talking to each other. In his new-found, big-brother voice of authority, I overheard Osten say:

"Marci, you can be the mommy, and I'll be the daddy. And we can both have husbands!"

It's moments like these that make me look forward to our next road trip! Kids just seem to have the best conversations in the car. I'm so glad that we haven't yet succumbed to the distraction of a portable DVD player. I think we'll protect our good, old-fashioned road trips as long as possible and enjoy every sweet, little discussion between our ever-increasingly chatty children!
