Still blogging the beach pictures ... Here's Piper creating a one-of-kind masterpiece.
Osten also designed an original plate keepsake. The MOMA ain't got nothin' on our little Picassos!
Once again, Marci happily watched from afar, but something tells me it won't be long before she starts hitting the markers!
Since Daddy had to leave a night early, Osten called in an update. Yes, he has officially begun collecting bandaids and can usually be seen sporting at least one or two on his elbows or knees. Boo-boos are optional, but bandaids seem to have become a key piece of his wardrobe ... apparently, they have replaced his pants!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pranks
If our trip to the beach was any indication, Piper is going to thoroughly enjoy being a big sister, as well as the perks and pranks that go along with the seniority of being the firstborn. It appears that she may have a few tricks up her sleeve already, and the long weekend offered more than one opportunity for some fine-tuning. Osten's blanket (a/k/a "Wyatt") made for an easy target, as he appeared and reappeared in the most uncanny places!
Hey . . . How did Wyatt end up in a heap in the living room?
Osten's sippy cup was also the victim of a prank or two . . .

I bet he'll never find his milk in the trash can!
The Best of Times and the Worst of Times
Ah, nothing like having a cousin handy when you're thirsty. Talk about the best of times; I could get used to this kind of life . . .
Or perhaps not. 'Tis also the worst of times, especially when one's bottle runs dry.
Osten to the rescue . . .

while Piper wisely moves to the side until the tears dry up or Marci's bottle is refilled!

Go Sandgnats!
Our cousins have been in town for a long weekend. Today was Uncle John's birthday, and we went to the Sandgnats game. We actually watched a good bit of the game, but then we discovered the kids' area, complete with a moonbounce, blowup slide, batting cages and ball toss . . .
Weeeeee . . .
Yee-ha!!
Jack and Nathan even ran the bases after the game!

Sandgnats - Part Two
The moonbounce was fun, as always . . .
and Jack got lots of hits!
Marci even had a good time . . .
but Nate the 'Gnat was a little scary!

Wild Dunes
At long last, here are just a few pictures from our trip to Wild Dunes over Memorial Day weekend. More pictures, to follow, I promise, but for now, here's just a taste of the fun that we had playing in the tide pools . . .
digging in the sand . . .
bathing in the sun . . .
and staying out of the sun!

The heat is here!
It's official. The summer heat is here. It was 90 degrees (or more!) all weekend long, and we had lots of fun outside, cutting the grass . . .
and playing and posing in it!
Mommy also took Marci for her first wagon ride . . .
and Osten stayed cool in the pool!
