Puzzled: Take Two
Osten got a new floor puzzle from Gramma Sue for Valentine's Day. Not only is it a puzzle, but it's a men-working puzzle! He's easily put it together a dozen times already. I'd say it's a hit!!

Snow, Glorious Snow
When you don't see it often, snow is an extra-special treat, and it seems to bring out the kid in all of us.
Osten threw numerous snowballs at Grammi standing at the window.
Marci had to climb up the deck stairs in her boots. Check out the accumulation! And this picture really doesn't do it justice.
My brother gets this same look of sheer joy on his face when he runs through the sand on his way into the ocean when he's been landlocked for too long. Ah, Mother Nature. She sure does good work!

The Androgynous Snowperson
Tom wasted no time in making a snowman of sorts, and we joked that it was the fastest-made snowman in history.
In between snowball-making and just general frolicking in the snow, the kids would check out his progress.
You can barely see him in the background, but there he is hard at work!
And here's a shot of the finished product. I guess we all lost interest after I shot this picture because shortly thereafter we were inside. Consequently, our androgynous snowperson never did take on much of a gender or an identity. Not to worry, it wasn't long before he/she was sideways in the snow, nearly all of which had melted away by midafternoon the next day.

Angels in Our Midst
Marci was a little young for snow angels, but Osten was all about it. His first attempt wasn't much of a success,
but his second attempt was heavenly!
Picture perfect.
That's my boy!

Snowball City
We arrived at Grammi and FaFa's this past Friday night and were greeted by about five inches of snow! And best of all, it was the kind of show that is perfect for snowball-making. We suited up in our winter gear and were frolicking in the winter wonderland in no time! It was both of the kids' first snow.
To say the least, they thoroughly enjoyed it!
Here's an action shot of Osten coming after me with a snowball.
I think Daddy threw as many snowballs as both of the kids put together!

We Heart Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Day was extra fun with the kids this year. We had a great time shopping for their cards of choice ~ Batman and Disney princesses ~ and only had to visit two stores to locate just what they had in mind.
Ah, decisions, decisions! I was surprised at how much thought they each gave to picking the cards for their friends. As I read the names from their lists, they would thoughtfully sort through their cards for the just the right one.
Marci took extra care to add a signature of sorts to each card, and she took great care in organizing and reorganizing her cards ~ which of course meant that they wound up in a dissheveled heap strewn across the kitchen!
Nevertheless, it sure was F-U-N!!!
