Luck o' the Irish

We had a fabulous St. Patrick's Day celebration this year. We opted to make green pancakes and watch the parade at home in our PJs or thereabouts!

Osten, who has never met a costume he didn't like, was quite the little Leprechaun!

Gramma Sue was waiting with green beads and cupcakes when we got up at 6:30, and the kids munched on them while Daddy was cooking the pancakes.

Even Wrigley doned her green this year!

Luck o' the Irish (Behind the Scenes)

Here's the sous chef hard at work on the green pancake batter . . .

. . . while Marci looks on with a discerning eye. Something tells me that it won't be long before we have two little helpers in the kitchen!

Here's a sampling of the morning's fare.

And here's a shot of our leftovers. It's gonna be green pancakes for breakfast for the rest of the week!

True Story

Okay, so it's been a while since I've posted.  I have tons of photos to share, but alas my time is not quite as plentiful.  But while I had a minute, I just had to make a quick entry to document a recent witty play on words.

Yesterday, Osten and I were listening to a woodpecker in our front yard.  They are all over the place out here, and we hear them often.  We were listening to one little guy just a peckering (?) away, when the following conversation unfolded:

Osten:  "Mommy, I hear a woodpecker."

Mommy:  "You're right.  That is a woodpecker.  I hear it, too."

Osten:  "No, Mommy.  One woodpecker, not two!"

True story.  Ah, the three-year-old perspective.  It's priceless!

A Pirate and His Cowgirl Princess

Marci is finally old enough for dressup, and she and Osten had a big time donning costumes last week.

As usual, Osten wanted to be a pirate, while Marci opted for a country-princess look.

Suspenders, which are usually Osten's favorite fashion statement, were not what Osten had in mind.

But as it turned out, they were the perfect compliment to Marci's wand and tutu!

Fun with FaFa

Here's a shot with FaFa from our trip to Piper's house. As usual, Osten had a big time playing with FaFa.

Dishin' Daddys

Check out the two Daddys on the deck, dishin' about who knows what! Since they weren't dressed alike this time, they hit the local watering hole while Ang, Heather and I hit the President's Day sale at Kohl's. What wild lives we lead!
