Osten loved having an older boy to look up to, and he was particularly intrigued with his Leap Frog video game. Jack was kind enough to give him a personal demonstration of his Cars game.
Hmm . . . This could be an idea for his next birthday!
Marci loved having someone younger to impress with her almost two-year's worth of knowledge and experience, and Will was both a good sport and a good audience.
The trip was definitely a two thumbs up!

Poolside
Since we were so tied to the pool, it was lucky that there was a giant sand play area located poolside. On our last day, I finally convinced the kids to give it a whirl.
As usual, they loved digging in the sand.
Marci seems to be getting the hang of building sand castles.
Water break!

Campsite
We pitched the shark tent for Osten in our room, and he had a great time camping out, er, in! Marci's still a little young to be trusted in a tent, so Osten had a variety of other camping companions . . .
This is how we found him during a nap after a particularly busy day at the pool.
Ben, the son of one of Mommy's friends, stayed up late with us one night and hung out in the tent.
Even Marci caught a little time at the campsite for some light reading.

Pool-itics
We just got back from a trip to the beach and a continuing education seminar for Daddy's work. While he was at his "meeting," we spent just about ALL of our time at the pool. It was a great place to meet lots of other kids and families, and we made some new friends that we will hopefully see again next year.
We were right on the beach, but we pretty much only saw it on our way to the pool. I guess the kid pool was so much fun, Osten and Marci couldn't be convinced to do much of anything else.

Mr. Clean
The kids were playing a little too quietly in Osten's room this morning. When I went to check on them, nothing appeared to be amiss. Marci had one of their nice hardback books on the floor, and she was flipping through it. The paper pages looked funny . . . in a warped kind of way. When I felt them, they were damp. I asked Osten what happened to the book, and he very proudly responded, "I just cleaned all of the pages!" Hmm . . . I wonder if our little Mr. Clean has any interest in doing the windows and mirrors??!!

Osten Scissorhands
Osten loves to use his scissors, and he's starting to do more cutting than tearing with them. He helped me with a bulletin board project for his room the other night, and he happily volunteered to cut off the celophane wrapping.
