With some help from Jack and Will's dad (who made me promise not to take his picture), Osten and Marci caught lots of wave action.
Beached and begging for more.
Squealing with delight!
Um, I think we're now in the market for a blow-up boat.

Cheeky
Here's the best cheek shot of the week! It's a classic shot of Osten, too. This is one of those photos that will be lots of fun to dig out when they're in high school!
Ghost Sighting
The same night that we flew kites, we also happened to dig up a ghost crab. We had the best time following him along the beach.
Before disappearing into the dunes, he posed for a group photo with the kids!

Kites at Night
One night, we flew kites on the beach. It was Marci's first time flying a kite all by herself.
What a big girl . . .
. . . and so proud of herself!
Osten is a seasoned veteran and has perfected the one-handed hold. Peace, brutha!

A Beach Tradition
One of our favorite indoor activities at the beach is making brownies. We omit the eggs and let the kids do lots of mixing and sampling. When they start nearing belly-ache territory, I reach for the eggs, and add one to whatever's left in the bowl so we have a few baked brownies as proof of our efforts.
It's always a hit!
"Uh-oh, Mom's cracking an egg. Hurry up and shovel one more spoonful of batter in your mouth!"

Got Gear?
We made a trip to the Dollar Store before leaving for the beach, and the kids insisted on some new pool gear. Not surprisingly, these goggles and snorkles worked much better on the couch than they did at the pool but they were still good entertainment. Needless to say, they didn't make it to the beach, but at least I got a good photo of both of them in their gear.
Another Summer Success Story
Look who got to eat on the special plate! (She was just a little excited and proud of herself!) We were at the pool on Thursday, and I challenged her to swim the width of the pool in exchange for a dinner on the special plate. Lo and behold, she did it!
