The Fun of Sharing
Sharing might not always be a lot of fun, but it sure makes for some fun photos!
Sometimes sharing is sweet . . .
and sometimes it's not so sweet.
But it sure is cute!

A Literal Interpretation
Marci was back at home yesterday after she spiked another high fever Wednesday night. Daddy and I split the day, with me taking the morning shift. She was a little fussy, but her fever was gone, and we had a very nice morning together. After lunch, I put her down for her nap. As we always do, I told her to stay in her bed, and I raced off to take a shower and get ready for work before Daddy came home. She fussed when I left, and I went right back in her room to check on her after my shower. I found her tettering on the edge of her bed, sound asleep. I even turned on the light so I could snap a few pictures, and she didn't so much as budge. Well, I have to hand it to her. She didn't get out of bed! She obviously considered it and came very close, but stopped just shy of her feet hitting the floor. Speaking of hitting the floor . . . Daddy decided that he would move her back to a more traditional sleeping position after I left. However, just as my car was pulling out of the garage, he heard a loud thud from Marci's room. Sure enough, she had fallen off the bed, poor thing! Surprisingly, when Daddy went in to check on her, she merely resituated herself on the floor and went right back to sleep. She slept for about another hour in a little heap on top of her Parker piggie on the floor right next to her bed.

Got Sauce?
Daddy made spaghetti last night!
It was delicious.
And by delicious, I mean lip-smacking, cover-your-face-in-the-sauce good!!

Fever Pitch
What a week we've had! Marci was sick, then she was better, only to be sick again! Last night, she had a 103.6 fever, and Daddy and I scrambled around at a fever pitch to get her temperature to come back down. Here she is with her brother and a couple of CapriSuns in a cool bath.
What a little trooper! A dose of Motrin and nearly an hour's soak in the tub later, and her fever was down to 100. Whew! Nonetheless, Mommy slept in her room again last night, just in case. As it turns out, her trundle bed is coming in mighty handy!

Thrills & Spills
Daddy often quotes Uncle John and says that life (and especially childhood) is all about the thrills and the spills. Our neighbors recently passed down the iconic childhood thrill of a bicycle with training wheels.
It was hard to tell who was more thrilled - Osten or Mommy and Daddy! Childhood memories rushed back to both of us as we watched him pedal around the driveway.
While we were in the driveway, Connor and Tyler drove by . . . Osten jumped off his bike and ran down to their house to see them.
You'd think that the spill was a result of a wipe-out on the bike. Nope! Osten took a tumble over his own two feet as he was running back home from the neighbor's house. This was the first time that he did the honors with the Bactine. What a big boy!

A Hostess at Heart
Not only is Marci all-girl, I've recently discovered that she is also a little hostess at heart!
I was busy in the kitchen, when I noticed a suspicious silence in the house. Osten was watching Peter Pan, and I went in search for Marci. I found her in the dining room in the midst of an apparent party-planning extravaganza (and quite proud of herself, too)!
My little multi-tasker even took a birthday phone call without missing a beat!
